KENNESAW TODDLER DAYCARE

Transition Toddlers

M-F 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
Ages 10 months to 14 months

This program is for our infants who are transitioning into ‘Toddlerhood.’ Once the babies are crawling and have outgrown the infant room, Transition Toddlers is the next stop on the way to the Toddler I class. In this class the children will work on developing their walking skills, they will transition from bottles to sippy cups and they will transition to one nap/day on a cot. In this Kennesaw toddler class, children also start eating whole foods. They sit together at a table during meals and snacks. The toddlers are nurtured and comforted throughout the day while engaging in meaningful developmentally-appropriate learning. Introduction to songs, nursery rhymes, finger puppets, and Storytime are all the focus of this class. Our learning approach for transition toddlers includes a balance of child-directed and teacher-initiated opportunities to guide their exploration of new themes, skills, routines, and language.

The daily needs of each child are addressed with sign language, smiles, and age-appropriate directions. Diaper changes, feedings, rest time, and playtime happen with loving interaction between the toddler and the teacher. Our Transition Toddler class focuses on:

  • Songs and Sign Language
  • Recognition of Self and Others
  • Sensory Skills
  • Oral Language
  • Motor Skills
  • Socialization

Transition Toddler Highlights

The teachers are caring and committed caregivers. This ensures that the toddlers are in a safe and loving environment. The thematic focus in the curriculum helps to provide the toddlers with multiple opportunities to explore and absorb information, develop their five senses, and grow both physically and mentally.

Parents are kept informed throughout the day with pictures, videos and messages from the teachers using our secure Brightwheel App. Our parents love our seeing their child throughout the day and knowing that they are in a loving, caring, and supportive environment. A healthy and nutritious lunch, as well as snacks, are included in the cost of tuition. The monthly menu is available online and given to our families at the beginning of the month. Whole milk and water are served with meals and snacks.
