Learning Through Nature: Exploring the On-Site Nature Trail at Mt. Elizabeth Academy

At Mt. Elizabeth Academy in Kennesaw, Georgia, learning extends far beyond the classroom walls. One of the most cherished features of our campus is our on-site nature trail, where children experience hands-on learning in an environment that feels like true exploration. Each visit to the trail sparks curiosity, excitement, and meaningful connections to the natural world.

A Natural Extension of the Classroom

When children step onto our nature trail, they feel as though they are entering the woods—observing trees, listening to birds, and discovering the changing seasons firsthand. This immersive setting supports cognitive, social, and emotional development while encouraging children to ask questions, make observations, and engage with nature in an authentic way.

Our teachers incorporate the nature trail into the curriculum through science explorations, nature studies, and capstone activities that reinforce classroom learning.

Learning Together with Families

Parents are invited to join their children on the nature trail, sharing in the excitement and discovery that takes place during these outdoor experiences.

Reading, Science, and Discovery on the Trail

The nature trail is home to our Reading Circle, where children gather to enjoy stories read aloud by teachers and special mystery readers, surrounded by nature.

From science experiments to storytelling, the trail provides endless opportunities for discovery.
