Often people think of a run-down, trailer park, mobile home when they here "manufactured home". Nothing could be further from the truth. Indeed, the quality of the best manufactured homes has been equal to or superior to stick-built homes for many years now.
This is a Silvercrest home, one of the top-line manufacturers.Specifically, it's a Westwood Model WC-6.
If you're interested, there is an online journal describing how the house was assembled.
The house is four bedrooms, with two full baths. There are separate family room, dining room, and living room areas, and a kitchen open to the family room. Total square footage is roughly 2000 square feet. There is a 10'x12' Trex deck off the family room, leading down to a 10'x10' brick patio.
The house is heated with forced air gas from a 250 gallon propane tank; there is also a wood stove. The house is cooled by a roof-mounted evaporation cooler.
There is a refrigerator in the kitchen, and one in the garage. The kitchen has a gas stove. There is a washer and dryer in the laundry room off the kitchen. All these appliances are included with the house.
Water is supplied by a well on the property, and sewage is disposed of through the septic tank and leach field. There are two water lines:
- An unfiltered line for watering
- A filtered line for drinking, washing, etc.
The house sits on roughly 5.6 acres of land on Mount Elizabeth, in the Cedar Ridge neighborhood of Sonora. You can find the exact location from Google Maps.
The property is at roughly 4000' elevation. Most snow storms drop some snow on the property, but only once or twice a year is there more than a few inches of snow on the ground. Just two miles down the road at Belleview Elementary there is almost never any snow on the ground, so the property is really on the very edge of the snow belt.
Besides the house there are several outbuildings on the property:
- A two car garage
- A 10x10 storage shed
- An RV-sized carport
- A woodshed
- An 8x6 shed over the top of the well
